Adding Value – Talking Heads Animation

This animation is part of a series for a program on Adaptive Negotiation. It introduces characters and the issues they face while negotiating with clients, plus good and bad examples. The challenge for this particular video was to create a character that would serve as the “900 lbs. Gorilla,” or a truly tough negotiator. The Instructional Designer wanted to show a Gorilla who becomes less of a threat, i.e. changes into a man, as the protagonist successfully negotiates with him. One-Minute Application

The idea of applying for the “Best Job in the World” promotion appealed to me because it’s a short video with a quick deadline that forces you to think simply and get across as much information as possible. I decided to use it as an editing exercise, and to teach myself wiggle effects in Adobe After Effects.

The Object

I’m rather proud of this short film, although I wish I had a better quality copy. This was a school project on which I collaborated with Dan Falvey (cinematography) and Brendan Castner (sound design and acting). I wrote the story and edited the film using Final Cut Pro.
